Red Stag deer are one of the largest of the deer species and inhabit much of Europe, western Asia and parts of nothern Africa. Within the United State and Canada, Red Stag are only found on game farms and private land. Red deer have bright red coats in the summer and a darker gray-brown shade in the winter.
Red deer tend to live in scrublands and forests and are grazers. They stay in single-sex groups coming together only during the rut. Female red deer are attracted to males or stags who roar the loudest and most often.
